Helms College Culinary ProgramsOur Culinary Program

Our accredited cooking school offers both Associate Degree and Diploma programs in culinary education. We provide a comprehensive, seamless experience that gives students the knowledge and skills in the culinary arts to fulfill their dream of working in the industry. The Associate Degree program prepares graduates for executive chef, sous chef and restaurant manager positions. The Diploma program prepares the student to enter the following positions: baker, broiler cook, expediter, fry/sauté cook, pantry cook, pastry cook, soup and sauce cook and vegetable cook. Our programs emphasize technical and theoretical knowledge combined with the practical applications of cooking, baking, serving and management skills needed for success in the food industry.

Unlike other culinary programs in Georgia, our curriculum allows students to use their skills in actual restaurant, catering and banquet settings, as well as baking and pastry. Students have the opportunity to work with experienced professional chefs and restaurant managers throughout their program.

Helms College’s School of Health Services trains students for three different career paths within the health services area. These include Medical Administrative Assistant, Multi-Skilled Medical Assistant, and Patient Care Technician. Each of our allied health training programs is designed to place you ahead of the curve in this growing career field.

Graduates from our School of Health Services will be ready for entry-level jobs in physician’s offices, behavioral health facilities, physical therapy clinics, hospitals, long-term care facilities, optometrist’s offices and more.
