Indulge yourself for lunch at Edgar’s Bistro from our new fall menu

Edgars Bistro Macon GAEdgar’s Bistro, operated by Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA)—the parent organization of Helms College—was established as a business enterprise and experiential learning experience in support of Helms College’s Macon Campus.

Located adjacent to Helms College, Edgar’s Bistro provides hands-on learning opportunities for students to work with executive chefs as well as experienced sous chefs and restaurant managers throughout their program. Each quarter students and staff work together to carefully choose selections with not only seasonal flair, but also ones that integrate the concept of farm-to-table initiatives. The Polly Long Denton School of Hospitality even has its own garden on where herbs are carefully cultivated and nurtured by students and staff.

jobelle_logo_revisedEdgar’s Bistro also is proud to announce their collaboration with JoBelle Coffee. JoBelle Coffee opened in Vidalia, Georgia, in 1998. Since then, JoBell has moved to Macon and is committed to only the best coffees throughout Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina. Edgar’s Bistro now serves JoBelle exclusively in the restaurant and uses it as the basis for many of our delicious coffee-inspired desserts.

And without further ado, here is the fall 2016 lunch menu:

Cranberry & Almond Salad…7 lg / 4 sm| baby spinach leaves tossed with cranberries, yellow cherry tomatoes, toasted almonds, shaved parmesan cheese and a lemon herb vinaigrette – add chicken or red-snapper 3

*Chophouse  Salad…7 lg / 4 sm| locally grown hydroponic lettuce drizzled with a creamy bleu cheese dressing, cinnamon pecans, diced bacon, red onions, diced tomatoes, bleu cheese crumbles and balsamic reduction – add steak 4

Tomato Basil Soup…7 bread bowl / 4 cup| creamy puree of fresh slow-roasted tomatoes, basil and savory herbs

Chesapeake Crab Soup…7 bread bowl / 4 cup| lump crabmeat, corn, shallots, and sherry wine in a rich cream topped with fried onions

Sesame Ginger Sea Scallops…12| pan seared sea scallops, carrot puree and drizzled mushroom soy reduction

Lamb Pops…8|grilled lamb chops accompanied by a rich mint demi-glace, tomato couscous, sautéed peppers and onions

Pierogies…6|european dumplings filled with mashed potatoes and cheddar cheese on a bed of caramelized onions topped with a lemon crema and diced bacon

Spinach & Roasted Artichoke Bowl…6| a creamy dip made of roasted artichoke, spinach, herbs and melted parmesan cheese in a bread bowl, great for sharing

Bread Service…4|warm freshly baked sourdough bread sliced and served with onion jam


Royal Flat Iron Steak…12|tender flat iron steak grilled to order, topped with a butter crown of roasted garlic and horseradish served with bourbon sweet potato mash and chef’s vegetable

 Chicken Bryan…10| bowtie pasta, confit sweet cherry tomatoes, artichokes and spinach tossed in a creamy pesto topped with grilled chicken and parmesan cheese

Southern Fried Red Snapper…10|fresh red snapper, house-seasoned and fried crispy, served with a lemon remoulade, sweet cornbread and jalapeño coleslaw

Breakfast Bison Burger…11| fresh ground bison grilled to order and served on a brioche bun with cheddar cheese, applewood smoked bacon, Texas Pete® infused aioli and a fried egg

Chicken Salad Croissant…10|pecans, cranberries, and celery tossed with baked chicken in a savory aioli on a warm croissant

Carolina Open-face BBQ Sandwich…10| braised pulled pork in a mustard Carolina style bbq sauce on sweet Hawaii toast and topped with jalapeño coleslaw

Gourmet Grilled Cheese Panini…8| perfectly melted gruyere, cheddar and mozzarella cheese between toasted sourdough bread

French Dip Panini…10| thinly sliced roast beef, caramelized onion puree and provolone cheese on toasted sourdough served with au jus

Helms CollegePlan a lunch date today! Edgar’s offers a wide range of delicious entrees, appetizers, salads and specialty sandwiches that are reasonably priced. Edgar’s Bistro is located at 5171 Eisenhower Pkwy., in Macon. Hours of operation are: Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Edgar’s also is available for special events.
