Helms College Saturday Chef courses are in full swing — enroll now!

Saturday Chef courses at the Augusta School of HospitalityThe 2016 Saturday Chef series started on January 23 at the Helms College Augusta Campus to rave reviews. This program is open to the public and is structured to help improve your cooking skills at home. The classes are presented on a monthly basis and the cost is just $75 per person including materials, ingredients, utensils and supplies. You will learn under the guidance of some of the best in the cooking industry in the Augusta area and be able to use your newly acquired knowledge to create fabulous meals right in your own kitchen.

Saturday Chef sauces 101Our next Saturday Chef class is scheduled for Saturday, March 12, from 10:00am – 12:30pm. Cost for the class is $75 per person. The course is titled “Sauces 101.”
In this sauces course you will learn the history and techniques to prepare the “5 Mother
sauces” of French cooking: Espagnole, Béchamel, Tomato, Veloute, and Hollandaise.  The current schedule outlining subsequent Saturday Chef courses is listed below:

Each participant will have a hands-on opportunity for culinary education, and by the end of each class will be able to impress family and friends with their new cooking techniques in their home kitchen. Just imagine the dishes you will be able to prepare after completing one, or more, of our Saturday Chef courses!
