Helms College chefs and students operate Edgar’s Bistro and are responsible for selecting new additions to our delicious menu each quarter. We are thrilled about the selections chosen for our new summer menu, and so are our patrons! One of the most popular items on our summer menu is undoubtedly the crab cakes. As a treat to you, we decided to share our tasty recipe for this low-country classic with you so that you may enjoy making it for your friends and family at home! Enjoy —
Menu Item: Crab Cakes
Mixing Bowl x3
1 lb. crab meat
1/2 cup Panko bread crumbs
1/4 cup melted butter
1 tsp. celery seed
1 Tbs. fresh minced parsley
2 tsp. Old Bay seasoning
1 tsp. yellow mustard
1/4 tsp. cayenne
2 1/2 Tbs. Greek yogurt
- In a separate bowl add crab meat, celery seed, parsley, & Old Bay together. Add fried bread crumbs
- In a separate mixing bowl whisk eggs well with mustard yogurt and cayenne.
- Pour the egg mixture over crab mixture and fold with rubber scrapper until fully incorporated.
- Heat butter and add panko, pan fry until golden brown.
